If our world was going to experience a revival, I'm not altogether comforted by what that may be.

And what may that look like??

Yes, I'm all for hope.

And yes, I am so thankful when we can give our children glimpses of the good that we can often give.

If the children find joy in anticipating the arrival of Santa Claus ...especially for those few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas ...

If the children enjoy the first signs of spring ...and an Easter egg hunt, pretending that bunnies deliver chicken eggs, when in reality both would not long survive with an always aware stalking fox ...

I believe that we can find an imaginative mind can mature ...and if that mind can believe in some pleasant fantasies, then the next step may be the movie industry, with characters of both good & evil.

Yes, that is also a realization that can be perhaps learned.

Most of these blockbuster cartoons, and the ones that aren't cartoons, but special effects enhanced real human beings acting like they're not (or superhuman) ...well, that is in a way healthier than just letting our imaginations intellectually mature into believing there is no evil.  And it's also often healthier than allowing political correctness (or more accurately, incorrectness) and an evolving set of standards to dominate our changing world.

No real standards at all would matter in a theoretical world based upon evolution.  What would be the basis of your grievances??  Arguments would be mostly meaningless, and the competitive advantage of survival would breed much more cruelty than anyone could cite as existing in the here & now.

Can we have it both ways ...

And how does compromise come into play???

We select our preferences, join denominations, and often claim unity by creating divisions.

And yes, we may worship at different churches ...our preferences arising much like how we choose what restaurants we like.  But, hopefully we are more careful how we digest His Word.

Yes, it is good to see increasing numbers of people attending a Christmas service ...or an Easter play.

And after September 11th 2001, we saw overflowing parking lots ...and vehicles parked on side streets, with people desiring to attend church.  And we showed our children a patriotic glimpse of what it's like when people come together.

But, how much of an actual consensus is there, really??

A revival should not be confused with a revolution ...

Some people look at it as a way to rid themselves of undesirables.

But, Jesus said to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's.

Jesus looked to the conversion of the heart.

And unity is agreeing upon the validity of His Word  ...the Bible.

No, this is not to be clever, nor to gain advantage by using and abusing semantics.

I see a university that used to be lauded for it's commitment to exercising free speech ...yet, now protest any speech they don't want to hear, and resorting to smashing windows and other forms of property destruction.  And the police are directed to just stand by while these masked criminals seem to get away with it.

Oh, yes, perhaps calling them criminals is not 'politically correct' ...but isn't it against the law to destroy property??  And how is morality something different than a distinction of right & wrong??  Or do you view it to be acceptable to do unlawful acts if you feel you've been wronged, or not seen what you see are proper justice??

There are three religions that I know of which are practiced widely today ...with a consistent view of morality, and one of them has a significant number of followers who claim that killing other human beings is justified.

It is very difficult for me to envision how so much present faulty reasoning could possibly lead to corrective measures.

If something is too salty, you don't add more salt.  And if something is too bitter ...you don't call for more bitterness.
